..... Last week my mother-in-law gave me this....
It belonged to Steve's grandfather. I thought at first the it was pretty Blah-rassy. But after a quick trip to Lowes this afternoon for some spray paint and now it is pretty fab! I am afraid to hang it without some help but I think I like it now!

I inherited a bunch of frames from my grandma that were about that color - they got the spray paint treatment too. :)

I'm kind of partial & sentimental to the "blah-rassy" since I grew up with the mirror in my dad & mom's living room. You are very fortunate to have such a beautiful mirror. I'm happy you kept it and hung it up.
That got me looking for a picture of the mirror.....it's not the mirror I was thinking of although there was a brass mirror that hung over the piano. Is it the one in later years that Dad hung up above the couch? Wonder where that mirror is what I'm remembering.
